Started playing Tenor Sax in 9th grade, mostly jazz, musicals, and marching band. Picked up 6 string guitar in 1980, rock & heavy metal. Started playing bass in 1983. Jacob started playing piano in 1975, and sang in the band Polyphony. He began playing drums in Boda And the Band in high school.
